New River Clean Water Alliance

After listening to feedback from community members, wastewater managers, business owners, conservation leaders, agency representatives, and others, the New River Clean Water Alliance is pleased to make the final Lower New River State of the Watershed report, July 2011, available to download here (PDF, 19.94 MB/62 pages).

For a pdf version of the Executive Summary of the Lower New River State of the Watershed Report download here (PDF, 7.22 MB/ 7 pages).

In the photo-rich report, we share stories about how and why the New River is a special place to so many. We discuss clean water challenges in creeks flowing into the New River, and offer recommendations to reach clean water goals through local partnerships and targeted cleanup projects. If you would like more information on how to become involved with a local watershed group or through your own individual actions, please contact these groups directly in Wolf CreekPiney Creek, or Arbuckle Creek. If you have any questions about the report in general please contact Heather Lukacs directly at  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or call 304.469.4433. We look forward to working with you for clean water.

The New River Clean Water Alliance is a partnership dedicated to promoting clean water and community efforts in the Lower New River watershed in Summers, Raleigh, and Fayette Counties.
